A team of researchers from Drexel University (Dr. Patricia Shewokis, professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions and School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems), Rice University, the University of Michigan, and University of Maryland, are working to develop the next generation of smart prosthetic devices — bringing the brain in the loop to directly control an artificial limb.
